Here is Tom’s full speech:

My name is Tom Goldenberg and today I am announcing my candidacy for Mayor of New Haven as a Democrat.

I love this city. I’ve been a part of it for most of my life – from my time as a student at ECA on Audubon Street, to my time in restaurants as a service worker downtown, to now raising a family. And through my work advising other cities and regions on achieving a strong and inclusive economy, I cannot help but see the potential of this city to achieve growth that truly benefits all of the city.

I’ve worked with organizations and governments on issues that confront us now as challenges – as crises – issues like improving public education, creating affordable housing, and strengthening pathways to economic opportunity. And I want to bring all my skills to bear, to serve as Mayor, so that we can achieve prosperity for all in this city.

Today I’m taking the first step in helping to make a better New Haven. Join my campaign at www.tomfornewhaven.com
